When do I need a permit?
A permit is required when constructing, enlarging, altering, repairing, moving, or demolishing a building or structure, when changing the use of a building, or when erecting, installing, widening, altering, repairing, removing, converting, or replacing any electrical, gas, mechanical, or plumbing system. Before beginning any work, permits must be obtained – each municipality may have different regulations.
