Design Portfolio: “Autumn Vibes”
Autumn Vibes is a kitchen remodel for a client who intends to update the interior of their 80’s Modern home. Originally, it housed dusty rose cabinetry with gold/beige accessories and appliances. While fashionable in the 1980s, it desperately needed an update. As a result, the new design starkly contrasts the 80s Lux look that came before it. Now, the kitchen features more natural elements and stainless steel appliances that offer a timeless design that flows with the original home’s Northwest-inspired architecture.
It’s What’s Inside That Counts
The kitchen features durable tile flooring, hardwood cabinetry, and custom granite countertops that withstand a home cook’s everyday wear and tear. With dual built-in ovens, a full-sized refrigerator, and an auxiliary wine cooler, the home is the perfect place to raise a family and is excellent for entertaining. While contemporary and inviting, its subtle design takes the home away from looking like a mega mall and makes the kitchen feel as though its part of the home.
Autumn Vibes Inspiration
Autumn Vibes is Located in beautiful Bellingham, Washington, and is an architect-designed home in Mid-Century Modern styling. In keeping with the home’s original design, the kitchen now reflects the original architecture and makes better use of the strange shape of the room through an improved layout.
In summary, Autumn Vibes’ design harks back to the home’s original architecture while bringing the house well into the 21st Century. The owner no longer should feel as though they’re living in a time capsule but a place where they can call their own.
